Ghana 70MW Photovoltaic Project

    Recently, China Energy Construction Gezhouba International Corporation and Avior Energy signed the Ahafo 70MW Stand Alone Pv System  power plant project in Ghana, with a contract value of approximately RMB 420 million, realizing the rolling development of the electricity business in the Ghanaian market.

    The project is located in Ahafo Province in the central-western part of Ghana, about 320km north of the capital Accra, with abundant sunlight resources. The content of the project includes the construction of a 70MW photovoltaic plant area and related supporting facilities, which will greatly alleviate the current power shortage in Ahafo Province after completion.

    In order to meet the increasing demand for electricity and promote energy diversification, the Ghanaian government has formulated a strategic goal of renewable energy. Jigezhouba signed the Ghana 70MW photovoltaic project and plans to increase the installed capacity of renewable energy to 1,360MW by 2030.
