REMCL won the 3GW photovoltaic power plant project of Indian Railways

     Recently, RITES Co., Ltd. stated that its subsidiary REMCL has obtained authorization from Indian Railways to be responsible for the tendering, installation, supervision and power supply of three gigawatt home solar system kit brisbane solar power plants. These three solar power plants will be built in Indian Railways laid idle land.


    The project will be divided into three phases, each with 1GW, and the overall installation is expected to be completed in 2022-23. Among them, the first and third stages (1GW each) are based on PPP (public-private partnership) in design, construction, financing, operation and transfer. The second phase of the project (1GW) will adopt the REMCL ownership model, and according to the CPSE investment plan, the company will be eligible for capital subsidies. At present, the railway department has determined to lease suitable land to REMCL in the name of lease.

    It is reported that REMCL will also obtain long-term income through management and maintenance of these facilities. During the project life cycle, REMCL will receive about 20 million rupees annually.
