Nigeria will build a 30 MW grid tie solar kit in Kaduna State, which is signed with DLO Energy Group. The development of a 30 MW grid tie solar kit is expected to begin next year and will generate enough electricity to supply households, including customers of major local utility suppliers.
The energy from grid tie solar kit generated is expected to be sold to the local company Kaduna Power Supply Company, which is responsible for distribution. The new contract complements the South African company's portfolio, which has invested heavily in the African continent. In addition to being in Nigeria, it is preparing to provide a total of 300 megawatts of grid tie solar kit electricity in several states.
The founder of DLO Energy said, “We are very pleased to work with our partners and the Kaduna State Government to carry out the solar system kit project. This is an excellent opportunity to provide the solar system kit electricity to Kaduna. This transaction is an African solution to Africa. An example, and more importantly, it provides a real opportunity for cooperation between South Africa and Nigeria."
