India's state-owned hydropower producer SJVN recently announced plans to deploy 10GW of solar photovoltaic Of Solar Panels capacity in the country within the next five years.     The solar projects will be installed on land allocated by the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation for an investment of 500 billion rupees ($6.6 billion/€5.8 billion). The power plant will be commissioned in stages and operated through a power purchase agreement (PPA). SJVN noted that Rajasthan was selected to participate in these projects because it provides the highest solar radiation capacity in the country.
