U.S. invests 20 million US dollars to develop perovskite solar technology
Perovskite is considered to have great potential to replace silicon in solar power generation. When used in the manufacture of off grid power systems solar cells, they have shown the potential for high performance and low production costs.

In recent years, the unique physical properties of perovskite materials (such as high absorbency) have aroused great interest in the photovoltaic industry.
A few months ago, German researchers used rockets to send perovskite solar cells into space. The solar cells withstood the extreme conditions of space. The battery generates electricity through direct sunlight and is light in weight. Compared with the heavy inorganic silicon solar panel, it provides a feasible solution.

The purpose of the US Department of Energy is to test the long-term durability of perovskites in order to be competitive in the market.
