Chilean electric utility company Colbun SA has obtained environmental approval to allow it to promote its 925MW photovoltaic solar energy for house project in the Antofagasta region in northern Chile. The project was named Inti Pacha.

The Inti Pacha complex will consist of three solar farms. The original idea is to generate a total of 719 MW of rated power and 788 MW of power.

From February 2020, when Colbun first submitted Inti Pacha's Environmental Impact Report (EIS), until November 3, when the document was approved, Colbun increased the facility's production capacity by adding more powerful solar modules.

In an addendum to the environmental impact report published on the Chilean Environmental Assessment Agency (SEA) project database, Colbun stated that the initial project plans to install 400-watt peak solar panels. Due to changes in solar panel technology, the Inti Pacha project will now use panels with a peak value of 540 watts, without modifying the layout and other content of the project.

According to Colbun's updated proposal, the rated installed capacity of Inti Pacha 1, 2 and 3 power plants will be 267 MW, 308 MW and 350 MW, respectively.
