Eon announced on Wednesday that it has reached an agreement to acquire a 49% stake in Eco2solar, a British rooftop Solar Energy Used In Homes photovoltaic solution provider.

Solar Power Panel

This company, established in 2008, has cooperated with many large building developers in the UK and has installed more than 20,000 photovoltaic systems in different types of buildings such as schools, hospitals, universities and distribution centers. In addition, the company also provides battery energy storage and charging station solutions for electric vehicles for construction developers active in the social residential and commercial fields. This cooperation with Eon is expected to realize the further development of Eco2solar in the UK market.

Eco2solar CEO Paul Hutchens said, “Eco2solar will continue to operate independently and our focus will remain unchanged: installing solar systems, battery energy storage and other smart technologies for new construction markets across the UK.”

Solar Panels For Houses

Eon said that the UK is a future market worth watching, especially since the government has set ambitious zero-emission targets. Michael Lewis, Eon's UK business director, believes that "the houses we live in now and the houses we will build in the future are critical to achieving these goals." After all, the housing sector constitutes the second largest component of UK carbon dioxide emissions.

Eco2solar claims that it has the ability to support building owners to achieve their sustainable development goals. Lewis said, "They coincide  with the goals we are trying to achieve for millions of customers across Eon-whether in homes, businesses, or in the entire community, to achieve smart, personalized and sustainable energy.
