Vietnam's renewable energy investment ranks among the world's top eight

    Recently, the statistics agency of Vietnam released data showing that in 2020, Vietnam's investment in wind power and photovoltaic power generation Solar For Sale projects reached 7.4 billion U.S. dollars, which ranked eighth in the global renewable energy investment ranking, surpassing France and Germany.

    Vietnam is assessed as a future renewable energy country in the fields of solar, wind and biomass energy. Vietnam’s goal is to account for 25% to 30% of its total energy generation by 2045. In particular, a priority investment policy is adopted for wind energy and solar power projects. In addition, the country also encourages investment in waste-to-energy and biomass power generation projects. Vietnamese experts believe that the benefits of the renewable energy transition include reducing Vietnam’s dependence on energy imports, ensuring national energy security, protecting nature and improving national health, creating job opportunities, technological innovation, and increasing the added value of the region.

    Statistics for 2020 show that in terms of renewable energy investment, China tops the list with 83.6 billion U.S. dollars, followed by the United States with 49.3 billion U.S. dollars.
