France will add 2.68GW of solar energy in 2021

    According to new data released by the French renewable energy Solar Home Generator association SER, as of the end of December 2021, the cumulative installed capacity of solar energy reached 13,067MW, of which the fourth quarter was particularly active, with about 761MW of new photovoltaic systems connected to the grid.

    In 2021, France will add 2,687MW of new solar installations, a record high. The previous installed capacity was 973MW in 2020, 883MW in 2018 and 890MW in 2017.

Solar Power System

    In addition, the SER report revealed that French photovoltaic power generation will reach nearly 143 TWH in 2021, an increase of 12.6% over the previous year. Nouvel-Aquitaine had the highest at 3.8TWh, ahead of the Occidental and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur regions (3TWh and 2.1TWh respectively).
