At present, the cumulative installed capacity of renewable power generation in India is 96.2GW, excluding small hydro and biomass power generation capacity. The installed capacity record set in 2021-2022 was mainly due to the completion of projects delayed last year.

Vinay Rustagi, Executive Director of Bridge to India, said, "The renewable energy sector has shown remarkable resilience in the face of multiple challenges, but what is important is the spillover effect of the epidemic, which affects investors and, on the one hand, the strength of the energy transition. Affected by macro fundamental factors, on the other hand, it is affected by severe policy and implementation barriers. The government's revised target of 500GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 is equivalent to the need for more than 40GW of new capacity per year, which makes it necessary to A complete reassessment of the industry."
