Brazil's National Electric Power System Operator (ONS) estimates that the cumulative capacity of the large-scale solar panels for your home power plant may reach 4,200 MW by 2024, when they will account for 2.4% of the total power structure.
At present, the total capacity of local photovoltaic facilities is 2600 MW, which accounts for 1.5% of the energy structure. Luons Eduardo Barata, general manager of ONS, said that by the end of this year, the country's centralized power station capacity is expected to reach 3,000 MW.
He pointed out that a hybrid power system project combining solar, wind and battery energy storage has not yet been implemented in the country, but this situation will change in the near future.
Recently, Brazilian power sector regulator Aneel announced that Brazil's installed capacity of distributed photovoltaic power generation (DG) has exceeded 2.3 GW, and a total of 200,942 systems have been connected to the grid.
