The news came from the National Cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister of India, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, India approved the establishment of an integrated renewable Solar Power System For Home Price energy project (IREP), which will build 550 megawatts of wind power , 1200 MW of pumped storage and 1000 MW of solar power.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh, India, proposed a 10 GW solar power project in February this year, because the state spends more than Rs 10,000 per year to meet agricultural subsidies, increase irrigation electricity charges and aquaculture subsidies. And in recent years, as the cost of power supply has increased and the number of agricultural pump connections has increased, subsidies have continued to increase.

In early 2019, the Prime Minister Modi’s Cabinet Economic Affairs Committee (CCEA) approved to provide farmers with a total of 4.6 trillion rupees (US$ 6.48 billion) of financial support by 2022 to promote the development of agricultural photovoltaics in India and promote the country. Rooftop solar project progress.

According to India's KUSUM plan, farmers and agricultural collectives can install 500KW~2MW photovoltaic power plants on agricultural land. Photovoltaic power will be purchased by DISCOM at the on-grid tariff determined by the National Electricity Regulatory Commission, providing rural landowners with a stable and sustainable source of income. At the same time, DISCOM will be provided with a performance-based reward of 0.40 rupees/Kwh for a period of five years. The Indian government stated in a statement: "Farmers can use solar pumps to meet irrigation needs while selling the remaining available energy to DISCOM."
