Recently, Turkish Energy Minister Fatih Drommetz announced that in order to revitalize the country's severely damaged economy during Covid-19, plans to restart the 1GW home solar panel kit system solar tender project including the Yeka (Yenilenebilir Enerji Kaynak Alanları) renewable energy plan.

It is reported that this bidding plan was originally scheduled for April, and bidding for photovoltaic projects ranging from 10MW-50MW in 40 provinces across the country is now scheduled for the next quarter.

Hakki Karacaoglan, CEO of the German company KRC Consulting, said that the schedule of the tender will help the Turkish solar market. Under the constraints of Covid-19, Turkey's solar market is under great pressure, with only 139 MW of new solar capacity added in the first four months of 2020. Karacaoglan said the government has not disclosed the location of the specific tender project.

It is reported that the Yeka bidding project was originally planned for January 2019, but it was postponed because of the precarious financial situation of the country and was postponed until April 2020. Now its plan has been redefined due to the impact of the epidemic.
