The Solar system generate 1,745 kilowatt-hours of electricity a day for factory
The Philippines, a country blessed with abundant sunshine, allows solar systems to generate electricity as early as 6:30 am and to stop at around 5:30 pm. The peak hours of power generation occur between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm. In January 2024, a customer in the Philippines installed a solar system in their factory. After accounting for all costs, including installation, it is estimated that the system will recover its initial investment within two years, providing free electricity thereafter.
Solar System Solution
The cost of industrial electricity in the Philippines is relatively high, with a price tag of 12 pesos per kilowatt-hour. Additionally, power supply in some areas is unstable. Driven by proactive government policies, many factories are exploring opportunities to install renewable energy sources. In August 2023, a customer approached Mars Solar to inquire about the feasibility of installing solar power generation in their factory.
The customer's objective was to reduce electricity bills by having solar power meet 80% of the factory's energy consumption, with the remaining 20% supplied by the electricity bureau. Understanding this need, Mas's design team promptly researched and crafted a tailored solution for the customer. Following a series of meetings and discussions, it was decided to install two 200-kilowatt solar systems, each in a different area of the factory. After confirming this plan with the customer, our Mars company dispatched a construction and installation team from China to the Philippines to complete the installation of this solar system in January 2024.
Upon arrival in the Philippines, our installation team first conducted a thorough inventory of goods and components. Once confirmed, engineers proceeded to the site for a detailed reconnaissance to ascertain the optimal installation location and assess on-site conditions, including lighting suitability, the positioning of electrical rooms and cabinets, and environmental factors.
During the reconnaissance at the first factory, engineers discovered that one of the planned installation areas would be shaded by adjacent buildings in the afternoon, significantly reducing solar power generation efficiency. They promptly re-evaluated the site and identified another, more suitable location. However, this change necessitated additional photovoltaic cables, which were promptly procured and supplemented.
With the assistance of the customer, our installation team successfully completed the installation of both solar systems within a week. Following a thorough inspection of all wiring, the team commenced a test run. The solar system started seamlessly, and observations and inspections were conducted. After a 48-hour monitoring period, the solar system was operating normally, marking the successful completion of the installation.
Now this system has been operating efficiently for some month, each day the power generation will be around 1750KWH,significantly reducing the customer's electricity bills on a daily basis. The user can call back his investment in one year. This installation not only fulfills the customer's objective but also aligns with the global push towards renewable energy and sustainable development.
