The 250th small cost of solar panels over time power station recently constructed by Yoma Micro Power has been completed. The completed power station is located in Dishengji Village, Vele Township, Sagaing Province.

It is understood that Yoma Micro Power is a joint venture between Yoma Strategic Holdings and AC Energy International, which aims to develop solar and other energy power plants in Myanmar. The company uses a small power station model to supply cheap electricity to areas in Myanmar where electricity is not yet available. In the initial period of the establishment of the joint venture (FY2017-2018), the company built a total of 10 small power stations and was in good operation. Subsequently, from March 2019, the company successively built solar and other energy power stations in rural areas of Myanmar. At present, the total construction has reached 250.

Yoma Strategic CEO Melvyn Pun said 60% of Myanmar's population is without access to electricity. The lack of power seriously affects the country's economic development. In order to accelerate the development of the country's economy, sufficient power is required.

Yoma Micro Power began setting up small solar power stations on the roofs of buildings in 2018. The company plans to build more than 2,000 small solar and other energy power stations nationwide by 2022, covering multiple provinces including Sagaing, Magway, Mandalay, and Naypyidaw administrative regions, covering a total area of 175,000 square kilometers.
