As of December 31, India’s cumulative installed photovoltaic capacity reached 41.6 GW, including 34.2 GW of utility-scale photovoltaics, 6.4 GW of rooftop photovoltaics and 1.08 GW of off-grid capacity.

It is reported that the increase in the scale of public utilities in the fourth quarter was slightly lower than its initial estimate.

The rising prices of components and inverters have also pushed up engineering, procurement and construction costs. But Bridge to India said that it expects the construction volume to increase this year. According to its estimates, by the first two quarters of 2021, more than 2GW of utility-scale solar energy will be added each year. The rooftop solar market is also expected to expand, with an increase of 475 MW in the first quarter.
