As of 2020, India's cumulative installed photovoltaic capacity will reach 41.6GW
According to data from Bridge To India, India added 1.29GW of solar energy Solar For Household from October to December, and utility-scale PV accounted for 77%, reaching 998MW, and pointed out that the total rooftop installed capacity accounted for 23% of the total capacity, reaching 300 MW.
As of December 31, India’s cumulative installed photovoltaic capacity reached 41.6 GW, including 34.2 GW of utility-scale photovoltaics, 6.4 GW of rooftop photovoltaics and 1.08 GW of off-grid capacity.
It is reported that the increase in the scale of public utilities in the fourth quarter was slightly lower than its initial estimate.
The rising prices of components and inverters have also pushed up engineering, procurement and construction costs. But Bridge to India said that it expects the construction volume to increase this year. According to its estimates, by the first two quarters of 2021, more than 2GW of utility-scale solar energy will be added each year. The rooftop solar market is also expected to expand, with an increase of 475 MW in the first quarter.
