The German Federal Power Grid Management Agency Bundesnetzagentur reported that the newly registered installed capacity of photovoltaic systems Solar Panel In Home in January was 536MW, a slight increase from the newly installed capacity of 525MW in December; but slightly lower than the newly installed 579 MW photovoltaic capacity in January 2020.

Most of the newly added capacity in December, 493.3MW, came from photovoltaic systems with a scale of no more than 750 kW, of which 406MW was a photovoltaic system under the national FIT plan, and 87.3MW was a project that was selected through bidding but did not enjoy FIT electricity price discounts. In addition, Bundesnetzagentur has also registered 43 MW grid-connected projects-although these projects are also through bidding, they are eligible for FIT electricity prices.

As of the end of January, the cumulative capacity of all subsidized photovoltaic systems in Germany reached 54.1 GW.

Starting today, the price of photovoltaic systems will drop by 1.4%. The FIT for roof systems with a capacity of less than 10 kW will drop below the threshold of 0.08 Euro/kWh for the first time, reaching 0.0792 Euro/kWh. The price level of photovoltaic installations with a capacity between 10-40 kW will be 0.077 Euro/kWh.

The system with a capacity of 40-100 kW will adopt an electricity price of 0.0604 Euro/kWh from today. For projects with a capacity of 40-750 kW, it will be 0.0544 Euro/kWh. For other systems with a scale of less than 100 kilowatts, the fixed FIT is 0.04 Euro/kWh.
