Kazakhstan: plans to increase renewable energy by 9.4% in 2021

    According to the announcement of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, in 2021, Kazakhstan's renewable energy power generation is planned to reach 3.5 billion kWh Solar House Power System, an increase of 9.4%, accounting for 3.3% of the total power generation. It is estimated that 23 renewable energy facilities will be put into operation. Among them, there are 12 wind power stations, 6 hydropower stations and 5 solar power stations, with a total installed capacity of 391 MW.

    In 2020, Kazakhstan's renewable energy power generation capacity was 3.2 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 32.2%. There are 115 renewable energy facilities in operation, a year-on-year increase of 27.8%. Among them, 29 wind power stations, 43 solar power stations, 38 hydropower stations, and 5 biomass power stations, with a total installed capacity of 1634.7 MW, an increase of 55.6%.
