The world's largest renewable energy park starts construction in India
According to a report on the Oilprice website on December 15, India officially launched the construction of a giant park project on Tuesday. The project will be able to produce 30 million kilowatts of renewable energy Solar Pannel and become the world's largest renewable energy facility.
The Prime Minister’s Office stated before Modi’s visit to the Kutch region of Gujarat that the hybrid renewable energy park will be India’s largest renewable energy power generation park.
Agence France-Presse quoted the Prime Minister’s speech at the ceremony as saying: “This will be the world’s largest hybrid renewable energy park, capable of producing 30 million kilowatts of electricity.”
The Office of the Prime Minister of India stated that the park covers an area of 72,600 hectares and will have a hybrid park dedicated to wind and solar storage, and a park dedicated to wind power.
Earlier this year, Indian Minister of Electricity and New Renewable Energy RK Singh stated that by 2030, 60% of India’s installed power generation capacity will come from clean energy. India is expected to become the fastest growing energy demand market in the coming decades. The country also plans to achieve 51,000 kilowatts of renewable energy installed capacity by 2030, including 60 million kilowatts of hydropower installed capacity.
This year, India’s installed capacity of renewable energy, including hydropower and projects under construction, is approximately 190 million watts.
