Nampower (Nampower) has launched a new solar photovoltaic power plant project. The project is located 12 kilometers outside the town of Omaruru in the province of Erongo. The designed power generation capacity is 20MW Solar Systems For Homes, which can provide electricity to 16,000 households each year.
The construction cost of the project reached 317 million renminbi and was borne by a joint venture established by Hopsol and Tulive Private Equity. It is estimated that approximately 330 employees can be employed during the peak construction period. According to Haulofu, manager of the National Power Company, the project is fully considered to support local capacity building. It is estimated that 37% of the project expenditure will be used for local procurement, including recruiting all unskilled and semi-skilled workers locally. Howard added that the power company has approved a number of power transmission projects to enhance power supply.
