At 11 am on May 2, the Zagora Power Station of Morocco’s NT120MW photovoltaic project undertaken by the Power Construction Municipal Corporation succeeded in reverse Solar Power Company power transmission. This is the second power station to complete reverse power transmission after Ilford Power Station.
The total installed capacity of the Zagora Power Station is 40MW and consists of 17 photovoltaic sub-arrays. The power station is equipped with a 60kV booster station, which is connected to the public grid by overhead lines. Through scientific organization and careful construction, the project has overcome many unfavorable factors such as sandstorms, high temperatures, tornadoes, and the new crown epidemic, and achieved a stage victory before the power station is connected to the grid. The owner also highly praised the project's superb electrical installation and commissioning level. The success of reverse power transmission indicates that the power station will be transferred from the construction stage to trial operation, laying a solid foundation for the next 7-day live trial operation and commissioning of photovoltaic power generation.
Zagora Power Station is located in southern Morocco, on the edge of the Sahara Desert. The surrounding areas rely on the northern public grid for electricity supply. The urban area has to undergo power outages and maintenance almost every month. After the power station is connected to the grid for power generation, it will greatly alleviate the local power shortage and improve the electricity environment for residents. At present, the last Misur power station of the project is undergoing various electrical test and debugging work, and it is expected that the reverse power transmission will be realized in mid-to-late May.
