Swedish developer announces plans to build 1GW photovoltaic project
Swedish photovoltaic developer Helios Nordic Energy AB announced that it plans to add 10 ground-mounted Solar Power Irrigation System projects in Sweden. "Helios Nordic Energy is recruiting suitable investors to invest in four of the solar parks, all of which are located in the SE3 prime land in Sweden," a company spokesperson told Photovoltaic magazine. "The total capacity of these projects is about 90MW."
The developer stated that 10 new projects are located in southern Sweden with a total capacity of about 500MW, which will make the total capacity of the company's photovoltaic project portfolio exceed 1GW. "The company's next goal is to increase the total development capacity to 2GW in suitable areas by 2022," said Helios CEO Andreas Tunbjer.
The company has not announced further technical and financial details. At present, several large-scale photovoltaic projects without subsidies have been developed in Sweden. Solar energy developer Alight and Swedish catering expert Martin & Servera signed a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for an 8MW solar park in June. In addition, they signed a 5 year agreement for an 18 MW solar park in December. Annual power purchase agreement. The prospects of this industry in the Nordic region are still unclear, but signals from neighboring Denmark indicate that the region is at the beginning of a new phase. It is worth noting that the Nordic countries have rich experience in private PPA in the field of wind power generation, which is very valuable to developers and investors in the solar energy industry.
