The Japan Solar Energy Association published the "Solar Industry Outlook towards 2050 (JPEA PV OUTLOOK 2050)" in May 2020.

The outlook stated that if the overall reduction of greenhouse gases by 80% is the goal, the effective capacity of solar equipment needs to reach 100GW by 2030 and 300GW by 2050.

At this review meeting, the Solar Energy Association stated that it will raise this target to 125GW by 2030 and complete 300GW ahead of schedule by 2040.

As a necessary condition for the completion of the solar energy 100GW construction target in 2030, the cost reduction of related equipment and the guarantee of available land are one of the necessary conditions.

At the same time, in order to allow renewable energy to be smoothly connected to the system and expand consumer demand, the power infrastructure related to power transmission and configuration also needs to be updated and upgraded.

Now that the free electricity trading market is open, the integration of the electricity market and the added value of renewable energy have yet to be developed.
